HAND IN HAND, 2023, 4' x 4'
This work showcases a detailed depiction of two people holding hands. The juxtaposition of the scale of the piece against the intimate connection of hand-holding creates a powerful visual impact on the viewer, prompting a reflection of the human experience. Throughout the creation process, I delved into the intricacies of human flesh tones, utilizing a range of colors from cool to warm, enhancing the contrasts of light and shadow and ultimately bringing the hands and moment to life. Attention to detail was also a focus in this piece, with careful consideration given to each brushstroke to capture the essence of reality.
PIEUVRE, 2023, 30" x 40"
This piece reflects a photo-realistic approach to oil painting through a surreal and fantastical imagery of an AI-generated octopus. The brief for this project was to randomly draw three words from a jar and with those words use an AI generator to create the image. In this work, I focused on creating complexity and vibrancy through color as well as through multiple layers of small details in order to achieve a photo-realistic look. I wanted to bring this otherworldly scene to life through a meticulous attention to detail and vibrant colors. This juxtaposition of natural and artificial elements creates a visually striking and thought-provoking work that invites viewers to contemplate the intersections of technology, nature and the imagination.

This piece is a still life of toy objects and hand-made clay figures. For this painting, I wanted to focus on color and building complexity through layers and using compliments to build the palette.
